Ok, so her birthday was on the 25th, so I'm late posting this, but at least I'm posting something! (at least that's the way I look at it, ha!)
We had dinner with our friends, Tom, Heather, Shelby and Cameron, the night before Claire's birthday so we had birthday cupcakes that night and sang to her. I don't know how she felt about the singing, but she loved the cupcake! We were glad to be able to celebrate with our friends who moved a little further away, but we're still so lucky to see every few months. Thanks Seguines for having us over!!
The next morning we had birthday pancakes and sang to her since Jay had to work that evening. After breakfast, she opened her presents. Jack did a great job picking out the perfect present for Claire. It's a little rubber teething monkey that squeaks, and she loves it! I don't know why or how, but she has a thing for monkeys, and I think it's adorable! She also got a Learn and Play puppy, some clothes, and shoes.
Her birthday wasn't too eventful. We invited ourselves over to our friend Holly's house for the afternoon/evening. (I had just finished knitting Claire's Christmas stocking and needed to felt it, and who doesn't want to play with their friends on their birthday? :) Holly was so gracious to let us come over and the kids had a great time playing. Claire and Olivia just walked all around the kitchen taking things from each other. Those two are so funny together!
I posted that video of Claire walking the week before her birthday, and she really didn't take more than two steps for a week after, but on her birthday she decided she was a big girl and started walking all the time. And she hasn't stopped. She's a full blown walker now, and I've had a hard time finding size 2 shoes that have hard soles she can wear outside. Most babies with size 2 feet are 6 months old! What can I say? My kids are small. Sorry, kids!
Oh, Claire Bear, I'm so glad you're in our family and my love for you just grows more and more each day. You have such a fun, silly, sweet personality and I can't wait to see what you'll be like as you get bigger!
