Jack first noticed the posters and billboards for the movie Turbo almost two months ago. He asked me what it was and once I told him it was about a snail that wanted to be fast, he wanted to see it. Every week he asked me when Turbo was coming out and if we could see it. He asked to watch previews and clips and more previews, and he was just so excited about seeing it that we couldn't not take him. It came out on Wednesday and it just so happened to be Jay's day off, so it worked out perfectly for us to go to a matinee. We were planning on only having one of us take him, but we both wanted to enjoy his first time in a movie theater, so our wonderful neighbor Jane offered to watch Claire while we went.
He did so well, especially considering we got there early and watched all the ads and clips before the previews, and then he sat patiently through the 20 minutes of coming attractions. Sheesh- I was getting bored by that time so I'm glad he stuck it out because he loved the movie. And to top it off, we got popcorn and a drink to enjoy while watching. We had a great time- but it might be a while before we both take him to a movie and buy concessions again. When did movies get so ridiculously expensive? Still, it was worth it for his first movie.
He loved it so much that every day since he's been drawing pictures of Turbo. I'm sure it's just the proud mama in me, but I think his pictures are pretty good for a 3 year old! Nice work, Jack!
