Since Jay's schedule is a little hectic these days and he doesn't get much time off (and never two days in a row), we decided to lay low this year. It was the first year we've been by ourselves for Thanksgiving, and while we missed all of our family and friends, we had a nice time just being home. We made a traditional dinner (even though Jay always jokes about having pizza, and Jack told me the day before he wanted tacos), and it turned out great. We watched lots of football, ate lots of good food, watched "Nightmare Before Christmas" (one of Jay's favorite ways to kick off the Christmas season), and enjoyed just being together. We also put up our Christmas tree and started decorating. I am so thankful for such a wonderful husband and son, for our wonderful extended family and friends, and for the gospel.
