Jack and I headed to Toluca Lake with Jane and Ryan to meet our friends for some trick or treating, but before we left we decided to do a trial run around our apartment building. Our friend Julia went with the boys and those three were so cute holding hands, trick or treating.
We met Holly, Chris, Annie, Snow White (Whitney) and an adorable cupcake (Natalie) in the posh Toluca Lake neighborhood. It was still light out and there weren't too many people, which was great.

Jack wasn't too keen on walking fast enough to keep up with everyone so I ended up carrying him all night. He really just wanted to eat the sucker he got from the first house, but he made such a mess with his Tootsie Pop from the trunk or treat that I figured he could wait and eat a smaller sucker I knew he was bound to get. Instead he got this big ol' Mickey Mouse sucker on the longest stick ever, but he wasn't too messy with it, so it was ok. He loved the sucker and the dog at the house where he got it, since the dog had a cape too. Cool!

That's also when we had our first accident. Apparently I didn't check his diaper before we left and while I was carrying him I realized I was a little wet. Not only that, but I had left the diaper bag in the car. Lucky for me Holly had an extra diaper we used. Unfortunately, that was only the first of three accidents that night. What?!?! I don't know what happened, but I must've been holding him in a way that compromised the integrity of the diaper. Blah!
We saw some pretty awesome houses and had a good time, but by the time we left it was incredibly crowded and I was ready to leave. It was a lot of fun when we could take our time going to the door and Jack could say "trick or treat" and "happy Halloween". By the end, the people at the houses were pretty much just throwing candy at us and probably hoping the line at their house would die down. It was a bit ridiculous how many people there were. My only hope for next year is that Jack will be excited about trick or treating that he will actually walk from house to house instead of me having to carry him all night. My shoulder and arm were killing me, and my clothes were in desperate need of washing. But it was a successful night and Jack was excited about his loot!
