Deb and Jeison came out to visit us over Labor Day weekend, and we had so much fun with them, especially Jack. He really, really loves them and talks about Jeison all of the time. We picked them up from the airport on Friday and then went to the mall where Jay will be working for him to finish paperwork. We tried on super expensive Bloomingdale's shoes and then headed home for naps (we all got up early and needed to recuperate).
The next day was all about the LA Fair. It was opening day and was SUPER crowded, but so much fun. We shopped and ate and walked and enjoyed all of the wonderful things about the fair. We really liked the shark tank (except it could've been bigger, not that we're picky- we just LOVE sharks) and were fascinated by the Chinese acrobats who are always phenomenal. The best thing was our tickets got us in for free the next week, so of course we had to make another trip (more on that later). We met up with Heather, Tom and Shelby and got to catch up with them for a bit before parting ways. Jack napped in his stroller and we stayed until 9:30. It was a great day!
Monday we hit beautiful, almost deserted, Redondo beach with Heather, Tom, Elizabeth and Jason- all of our long lost LA friends. It was great to chill on the beach and chat with our friends that we don't get to see very often. Jack (and all of the boys for that matter) had so much fun in the sand and water, and we probably could've stayed all day and been content. We then hit Cafe Rio for dinner, which is a rare treat since there are no Cafe Rios close to us. It was delicious as always and half off since the rice wasn't done cooking. Score!
We love Deb and Jeison and were so sad to see them leave, but we had a great time while they were here. Don't wait too long to come back to visit!

Sword fighting in the Knight and Princess area- Jay looks worried, doesn't he?

Jack loved pulling the boogie boards around and around for a while.
Tuesday Jay started training for his job so we went and played at the California Science Center without him. That place is pretty big and has tons of discovery areas for younger kids, so Jack was in heaven. It also had an aquarium area and Jack loved watching the sharks, fish, jellyfish, starfish, and whatever else was in there. He now calls every star shaped object a "starshish" (star fish). We love Deb and Jeison and were so sad to see them leave, but we had a great time while they were here.
