My mom flew in to LA on Wednesday, and Thursday morning we headed to Shannan and Jim's to celebrate Thanksgiving. We had a delicious feast and enjoyed being with family. On Friday we headed out in the Black Friday craziness, but it was 7:30 am instead of 3 am, so it wasn't bad and we still found everything we needed. Saturday we went for a little hike and then participated in Rachael's baptism. It was a wonderful night. Rachael looked so beautiful and we are so glad we were able to attend that special event. We loved being with family last week, and Jack really loved being with his three cousins, especially Malia. Thanks, Shannan and Jim, for letting us celebrate Thanksgiving with you!
We headed back to LA on Sunday morning and began decorating for Christmas that night. On Monday we went to Santa Clarita for a little hike. It was a windy 42 degrees and we weren't adequately dressed, but it was still a fun hike and Jack even fell asleep on the way back which never happens! We hiked to a waterfall but it was only a little trickle. We are definitely heading back up there in the spring because I think it will be beautiful when there's water. That evening we went to the Americana to see the huge 100 ft tree and Christmas decorations and saw Jay Leno! We had a great time with my mom and are so glad she came to spend time with us.
