Fun with Grandma and Grandpa

Jay's parents called on Thursday morning and asked what plans we had for the weekend. When we told them we were pretty free they asked if they could fly out for a visit. Of course we said yes and were so excited to have them stay with us a few days. They flew in on Friday night and left last night. On Saturday we all went to the Dodgers v. Yankees game at Dodger's Stadium. It started at 4pm, which was great timing because we were able to get home not too long after Jack's bedtime. Jack did take two little naps during the less exciting innings, which worked out great. The game was packed and it was so fun. There were so many good hits and runs, and the Dodger's won 9 to 4. This was Alan and Brenda's first major league baseball game and we were so glad we got to be a part of it!
Monday we went to Balboa Park up in Van Nuys and then headed over to the Japanese Gardens (or as we like to call it, the stinky gardens since it's really a water reclamation facility and is a little aromatic). The park was huge and had this big lake with lots of ducks. Next time we'll remember to take Jay's remote control boat to drive around the lake. The Japanese garden is so beautiful and was less fragrant than when we went two years ago with my mom, which made it more enjoyable.
Yesterday we went over to The Getty and enjoyed a few hours of culture. The grounds and buildings are beautiful in and of themselves, and I'm amazed at how much there is to see there. I still don't think we've seen it all yet.

Jack loved spending time with his grandparents and showing off all of his tricks (rolling everywhere, trying to sit up, drinking from his new cup, and lots of standing) and his Hulk impression (where he tightens every muscle in his body and grunts- multiple times in a row). It was so much fun to have them here and we were sad to see them leave. The good thing is we'll see them in about a month when we go to Utah.

Thanks again, Grandma and Grandpa! We love you and can't wait to see you!
