The past month has been crazy, so I'll just sum up what we've been up to.
The Wednesday before Halloween we had a ward trunk-or-treat. It was fun and people were very creative, but I think we would've had a better turnout had it not been so windy and cold that night (if you can ever consider LA weather cold).

We saw Curious George and The Man in the Yellow Hat.
On Halloween, Jay and I threw our first party for just a few close friends. We were missing Seth and Jane since they had just had baby Ryan a few days before, and Heather, Tom and Shelby weren't able to make it either, so we were few in numbers but we still had a good time. We even made our own Halloween shaped tortilla chips out of real tortillas. It was very festive.
On November 12, we hopped on a bus around 7am to drive up to San Francisco with 25 other people to sing in a rock concert with Ray Davies, the lead singer of The Kinks. The concert was that night at the Warfield Theater, and we got on the bus the next morning to come back. It was a super short trip with lots of driving, but it was totally worth it. It was so surreal singing on stage in a rock concert, and I am so glad that we did it.
Elizabeth, Robyn, and me on stage at the Warfield Theater. We each got our own head mics. Too bad the band was so loud we couldn't hear each other or ourselves. But the review was great, so we must've sounded good.
Jay and me with David Temple, our choir master for the two concerts. He flew out from London and was so great to work with.
After our quick trip up north and back, we had half a day to rest before we had to be at the Orpheum for our last concert on Saturday night, November 14. We had some friends in the audience for this concert so it made it even more fun to perform. What a great story to tell our little boy!
For my birthday, my wonderful friends threw a beach themed baby shower for me. What a great way to spend a birthday! Erin and Ellie came out from Utah to stay with Brian while he works in California for a few months, and came a day early to be at the shower, and it was a great birthday present! Ellie and Whitney became fast friends and Whitney wanted to come sleep at our house because she had so much fun with Ellie. These two are so cute!
I was so happy that two of my sisters could be at the shower, especially since it wasn't the most convenient timing. Thanks Erin and Shannan for being wonderful sisters!
Lastly, we turned this pile of food...And I can't forget my favorite part of last night. After the dinner, when it was just the four of us left, Seth, Jane, Jay and I had a little fun with some whip cream. You put a big glob on your hand and then hit your arm just above your elbow to launch the whip cream into the air and catch it in your mouth. I think we had a little too much fun with it (and we all got a little messy).

We now have a two week break before the ward Christmas party, and then I am done planning parties this year! It's a good thing because I need to get ready for our little guy to come. Hopefully between all of the Christmas festivities in December I'll have time to nest and make sure we have everything. It's been so busy, but it's been good and very memorable!
