A week ago Thursday, Jay's younger brother Jim and his three college buddies came to stay at our place for a few nights while they enjoyed Spring Break in LA. Their trip was short, but they were able to pack in a lot of sight-seeing and deep sea fishing before they left.
A few hours after Jim and his friends left, my sister Adrienne and her two kids, Max and Emily, arrived to stay with us for two nights.
We decided it would be fun to explore Griffith Park, not only because it's beautiful but because it's so close to us. We went to Travel Town to see all the big trains, the Merry-Go-Round (Max was not a big fan), and Shane's Inspiration (a nice big playground with plenty of sand for Emily to play in).

After the kids went to bed, Jay offered to hang out at home so I could take Adrienne to the Griffith Observatory. We got there pretty late so we didn't get to watch either of the shows they have, but we did get to see Saturn and its rings through the telescope (I always think that's so cool). Afterward we went to Pink Berry for a real LA treat.
On Sunday we had early church so we all took nice nap after we got home. Later that day we went for a stroll through our neighborhood to admire the unique houses around us.
Having family here made us remember (as we do often) that we miss being close to our families. But we were so glad that we were able to spend a few days with Jim, Adrienne and her kids. Thanks for coming to visit us!
