Jay and I haven't done anything too noteworthy lately, hence the lack of posts. We've been busy but not with anything too exciting. Last Saturday we were able to go to the baptism of two Primary girls who just turned 8, Alyssa and Tesiola. Then we headed down to Redondo Beach to visit our long lost Hollywood Ward friends, Tom and Heather, to celebrate Tom's birthday. We had a very great (and busy) day.
We did have one interesting thing happen to us in January. On a Monday morning, the manager of our apartment building (whom we are good friends with) asked if we had anyone come knock on our door at 3:30 a.m. that morning. We didn't hear anything and were completely confused as to who would be looking for us so late. After I got off work that day, I called the wife of our apartment manager and got the whole story. Apparently someone called one of our neighbors from the intercom at the front gate to let them in, and once they were in they went to our old apartment and knocked on the door while calling Jay's name. The girl that lives there was completely freaked out so she didn't answer the door or look to see who it was. We had no clue who would be looking for Jay in the middle of the night, and who would be looking for him at our old apartment. It actually kind of worried me.
The next day, Tuesday, Jay went to go take our old car for a drive that was parked up the street from our apartment. When he got inside the car, he saw a card from the LAPD with a handwritten note on it. Apparently our car horn had been going off for over two hours until someone finally called the police. They came looking for Jay at our old apartment because we hadn't updated our address with the DMV. Oops. Luckily they were able to pop the hood and disconnect the horn. We've been having problems with the horn for about a year now. It will suddenly go off without even touching it, and to get it to stop you have to get inside the car and tap the horn. This happened twice to us in Utah over Christmas, but we thought it was only set off by drastic temperature changes. We decided after this incident not to reconnect our horn so we don't have to worry about that happening ever again. Sorry neighbors!
