A Tale of Two Toes

Almost two years ago I dropped a DVD on my left foot big toe's nail during my lunch break. I was wearing sandals and the DVD must have hit my nail just right because within two hours my toenail was completely blue and green and was killing me because of all the built up pressure. I ended up waiting in Urgent Care for an hour and a half before a little hole was burned into my nail to relieve the pressure. It took over a year for my nail to grow out.

This morning while in the shower, I dropped our super size Costco bottle of shampoo on my right foot's big toe. Luckily it didn't hit the whole nail but only part of it, but right after it happened the bed of my toe nail started turning bluish green. I was just hoping all day that I wouldn't have to make the trip back to Urgent Care. At one point it hurt so bad I thought maybe it was broken. But once I got home I realized that most of the pain came from the boots I was wearing. Lucky for me I didn't have to go to Urgent Care and now my toe is just nice and bruised. I had no idea that toes could hurt so much, but now that I do, I'll be a little more careful about dropping things on my feet.

I'm sorry about your toes! I've never dropped anything on my toes like that but it sounds very ouchy! :)

You've got to be kidding me! Your poor toes! I can't believe the DVD thing was two years ago. I still think that's pretty much the most freaky thing I've ever heard! =)

I didn't know a DVD could do such damage! I am glad your new toe injury didn't require a visit to the dr. and hopefully it will return back to it's original color before too long.

I hate spelling errors! Of course I meant "Where" and not were.
