We've had a busy week. Last Saturday I helped out with the Relief Society's Enrichment Christmas Luncheon. We had a white elephant gift exchange and a potluck lunch. It was very fun and I walked away with some great Chinese bowls and cups. Thanks Donna!
That afternoon, Jay and I went to Whitney's 2nd birthday party. My friend, Holly, throws great parties and since Whitney LOVES dogs, Holly threw a 'Puppy Paw-ty". It was so cute with little dog ears for the kids to wear, a grooming station, a "dining" area, and a dog house for the kids to play in. We also had delicious food. It was a great day!
This Saturday was our ward's Christmas party. I decided to be brave and have our Christmas party in the morning as a brunch instead of in the evening since so many people (including me) had other parties that night. I must say that I learn something new with each activity I plan, and I'm taking notes so next year I know what will work better and how to plan these activities more effectively. We had a group sing-along which I thought was great. Nothing helps me get in the Christmas spirit more than a rousing chorus of "Jingle Bells".
That night we went to my work party. It wasn't as great as last year, but we still had a good time. We would've enjoyed a few more swings songs instead of R&B songs, but everyone else enjoyed that. I also didn't even come close to winning the dance contest, but that's ok. The firm hired a caricature artist who drew our picture. We weren't too impressed. He was good, but just not that good. But you tell me what you think.

With all of these parties and with only have a week left before we go to Utah for Christmas, the past week has been very hectic. Jay has definitely won "Best Husband of the Year" award as he's patiently gone dress and present shopping with me almost every night this week (yes, that's right...we shopped every night except Monday, Friday, and Saturday), helped me come up with ideas for table center pieces, gave me his honest opinion as I tried on countless outfits, and then set up all the chairs and tables for our ward party. He is amazing!

We are very relieved to have this week over. Now all I have to do is finish up my Christmas shopping (Jay deserves whatever he wants this year!) and pack for our 10 hour drive to Utah on Saturday.
We are thoroughly enjoying our Christmas tree and lights in our apartment, and even though I only have a few Christmas decorations (courtesy of Holly), I think they are adorable. (The calendar isn't a regular decoration, but a pre-Christmas present for Jay since he's never had a Christmas advent calendar before). I'm definitely looking forward to just having fun the next few weeks. Happy Holidays!
