Our Life the Past Two Weeks...

Two weeks ago I received a new calling- Ward Activities Chair. I've known since the end of September about this calling, but the Bishopric waited until after the Primary Program in October to release me from the Primary Presidency. I was in Primary for two years, and I have to admit I am very sad to not be there anymore.
For my initiation, I had two weeks to plan our ward's big annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Lucky for me, I have a wonderful husband who helped me with everything, including sorting through 100 lbs. of potatoes and other food to give to members to help make for the dinner. I also owe many, many nights of babysitting to Holly and Chris who helped in the kitchen during the whole dinner and helped clean up. Not to mention Chris's mom, Linda, my wonderful friend Donna, and the three members of my committee that were involved, and all the other people who made the food and helped clean the cultural hall. From what I hear, the dinner was a hit so that makes the work all worth it. Even though it sounds like a huge project, it really went pretty smoothly and I wasn't stressed because of all the great people that helped out. I am very grateful for helping hands!

I can't believe you weren't nervous. I would be. I was a basket case the week before my last enrichment, which was pretty big and I had no counselor to help me and my committee was not as helpful as it should have been. Good job on your new calling.

From the look of the food, there were a lot of people to feed!

Talk about jumping in with both feet! I didn't realize your dinner was this weekend. It looks like you did a great job. Now on to Christmas, right?

I am impressed that you pulled off such a big dinner as your first activity in your new calling. I guess they wanted to fully initiate you right off. I am glad you had some good help to get you through the event. Hopefully you guys don't have a big Christmas dinner as well. You will do a great job as the Activities Chair. I am sure the primary kids will miss you too.

Wow, what a calling! I'm sure you'll do great. What girl doesn't like to plan parties, right? We have a wonderful activities chair in our ward. It really brings the members together, when they can eat, play, and socialize with one another.
