Plethora of Poppies

One of the attorneys I work with loves wild flowers, and he mentioned to me that there was a place about an hour north of us where the wild flowers were in full bloom. So Jay and I decided to take a little drive into unknown territory and check them out. The weather has been unusually hot the past few days and it was probably around 90 degrees and very windy. But that didn't stop the crowds of people from coming to check out the poppies at the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. I couldn't believe how many people drove to see this place or how many poppies there were. The poppies were beautiful, and these orange flowers covered hill after hill and seemed to go on forever. And to make our hour drive worth it, we stopped by Walmart and Kohls since we don't have those stores close to us. We had a great time, especially since we were able to get out of Los Angeles for a day.

Wow! What color! I love wildflowers and would have been in heaven. What a cool thing to see? And did you find anything good at the stores?

Those are gorgeous pictures. We kept meaning to go out to Joshua Tree last month when the wildflowers were in full bloom, but we never made it. Antelope Valley's not too far, maybe we'll take a drive...
