5 months!!

Claire is suffering from second child syndrome (ie I don't blog her milestones and cute pictures of her every month or make ink footprints to document how big her feet are or write down how much she weighs, etc.) Luckily she doesn't care too much right now, and at least I am taking pictures and videos, I just haven't uploaded them yet.

She turned 5 months old yesterday, and I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. She has rolled over once from her back to her tummy a few weeks ago, and then right on cue yesterday she rolled from her belly to her back. She did that the other day in her bed but I didn't see it. All I know is that I laid her on her belly for her nap, and when I went to go get her she was on her back with her blanket covering some of her face and giving me the most mischievous grin.  It was so cute!!

She had her first doctor's appointment just a few weeks ago and is 12 pounds. I don't remember how long she is, but she's chubby and cute and healthy and that's all that matters, right? She's still waking almost every two hours at night. She had been going 3-4 hours but the past weeks it's been back to 2 hours. As of yesterday my new tactic is to feed her every 3-4 hours  at night and if she wakes sooner than that, give her a binky. It worked well last night so we'll see how it goes. I wanted to have her sleeping through the night by 6 months since I waited til Jack was 10 months old and I swore to never wait that long again, (yikes, what was I thinking?) so we'll see how I manage in the next 4 weeks. She's also playing with her feet, and grabbing objects and putting them in her mouth. Somehow she always manages to grab Jack's glasses whenever he gets close to her.

For the most part Claire is a pretty chill girl. I think once she's sleeping more at night, she'll let me put her down more. Right now she likes to be held a lot and she loves going outside. She is also super wiggly like Jack. I'm wondering if I'll ever have a cuddly kid. But she makes up for it by giving the biggest grins when you look at her. She also likes to babble and have conversations with you. She has pretty blue eyes, and it'll be interesting to see if they change like Jack's. He had the bluest eyes and they started getting flecks of green in them when he turned two, which was so unexpected. So we'll have to see if the same thing happens to her.

We've spent a lot of time at home since February because Jay got in a minor accident on the scooter. He was just a little injured and took a week off from work since he hurt his right hand and ankle, but the scooter is smashed and shouldn't be driven. Good news is it wasn't his fault, bad news is that we don't have coverage on our end to pay for it. The other driver does have insurance, but because they our insurance isn't going after them to compensate for paying for repairs, it's taking a loooong time for anything to happen. So we have been without a car for two months. And I might be going a little stir crazy. With no end in sight. And I struggle to find activities for us to do all day, everyday, and sometimes that means I get lazy and don't play with my kids as much as I should and then feel super guilty. Anyone have suggestions?

I'm sure I'm missing stuff and this was kind of random, but I wanted to document a few things at 5 months. We love our little Claire Bear!

5 months? She is not! It's always so fast. And yes, I'm cliche. She is so adorable!
