Cousin Time!!

We were so excited when we found out earlier this year that Erin, Brian and their three kids were planning a trip to Disneyland. Jack and their two boys, Brock and Isaac, are only 3 weeks apart in age and always seem to have a lot of fun together. The last time we saw them was Easter, so the boys have changed a lot in 6 months.

They made the long drive out on Oct 1 and we met them at Disneyland on Tuesday, Oct 2. Jay decided to take the day off so he could play with us too, which I was very happy about. The boys did great waiting in line and getting along with each other. Their familiar interaction with each other made it seem like we see them all the time. And Jack was so happy to see Ellie, too. Those two seem to have a special bond. He always looks forward to seeing Ellie.
I had heard a week or two before we went that I could get a handicap pass for being pregnant (that's a nice perk, right?) so when I went in to City Hall to get "1st Time" visit buttons for the boys, I asked about the pass too and was given one that would allow us to stand in the handicap line instead of the big long lines. This didn't get us out of waiting, but on some of the rides it made our wait considerably shorter, so it was so worth it!

On Wednesday, Erin and Brian took the kids to California Adventure but we had made plans to go to the very last Dodger game of the season. More on that in another post.

Thursday we met Erin and Brian at Corona del Mar State beach. We went there with my dad when they were in town, and it was such a great beach that I recommended it to Erin. It turned out perfect. We had great weather, and Brian and Erin were able to boogie board, and we were able to catch up on what we've been doing in life. The little boys built sand castles and sand hills for hours on end. I was kind of surprised by how long they were content to sit in one place, but it was perfect.  It was a very relaxing day playing, talking, and eating.

Friday Jack and I headed back down to Disneyland to play with them on their last day before they drove back to Utah on Saturday.  It was a little crowded but we were still able to go on all the rides we wanted and have a great time.

There were many times during this year that we've been so sad we haven't had any time to go to Utah to visit family, so it was especially wonderful that we've had so much family come our way instead. Thanks for letting us tag along on your family's Disneyland adventure, Erin and Brian! We love you!!
