Happy Birthday, Jack!!

(wow, this is super late but I didn't have time to blog about his birthday right after and then we were in Utah for almost two weeks after that, so really I just haven't had the time to post until now)

We had a great birthday celebration with friends on Saturday, January 7. The kids played baseball, soccer, and golf and ran around the garden, and after we ate cake and cake pops. We have such great friends and I am so glad we were able to celebrate Jack's birthday with them. He was so excited to play with his friends, and he was SO excited when we sang happy birthday to him. We've been singing happy birthday to family and friends since October so I think he was so thrilled that it was just for him.

I tried to keep it low key, but wish I would've planned to have some food since we ended up hanging out for a few hours (yay!) and we needed a little more than just cake. Note for next time. Everyone took it in stride and were great about it.

The next day after church, Jack got to open his birthday presents from us and grandparents, and we saved some cake from the day before and sang to him again. He was just as excited about us singing to him today as he was the day before. He is such a fun, energetic, talkative kid who loves everyone and loves to make people laugh so he's pretty much always performing. It's so cliche but I am so lucky that he's mine!! The past two years have been so wonderful and I know it will just keep getting better and better (until we hit teenage years, that may be another story :) but for now I'll enjoy every bit of him being my little man.
