On Thursday we decided it was finally hot enough to go to the beach. (Hey, I won't get in the water unless it's at least 80 degrees. The water's just too cold!) We made the drive out to Santa Monica and lugged our beach stuff from the car. It was windy and chilly, but still beautiful and fun. Jack actually like the water. We just got his legs wet and had him stand in the waves. I was very happy when he didn't get scared and cling to me like he did at Bear Lake. He may be a beach bum yet!
Later that night Jay went to play basketball at the church and came home with a sprained ankle. It was bad.
We ended up in Urgent Care on Friday for three hours (waaay too long for all three of us), and found out he had partially torn some ligaments in his ankle. The doctor said crutches for 10 days and no activity for 6 weeks. Jay had two auditions on Friday morning and then a meeting on Saturday so staying home and relaxing wasn't in the cards. He said he could drive himself but I insisted that since it was his right ankle and LA traffic is always stop and go that I needed to drive him. So we spent Friday and Saturday running around, and Jay definitely paid for it. But he is on the mend and his ankle is slowly healing. However, that may have been Jay's last basketball game--ever. I just hope this is the last time he is ever injured. It's hard taking care of a husband and a baby!

No good! 3 hours is a long time to hang out at the dr.'s with a mobile baby. I hope the auditions went well and that Jay's ankle heals soon.
