We had a great Easter weekend with our good friends. Our Easter festivities actually started the Tuesday before Easter. Holly, Heather, Jane and I got together (with the kids of course) to dye easter eggs using silk ties. It was really cool to see how they all turned out and what colors worked and what didn't, and it's a lot less messy than using food coloring. We had to get a picture of Jack and Natalie in their matching outfits before they grew out of them completely. We weren't quick enough to include Ryan and he had already grown out of his.
Our friend Chris celebrated his birthday on Monday, April 5 so Jane and Holly decided to throw him a surprise birthday party after the Priesthood session of conference on Saturday, April 3rd. He thought all of the girls were getting together for girl time, but was (hopefully) surprised when he came to pick Holly and the girls up and found Seth and Jane's apartment decorated "Dr. Pepper" style to celebrate Chris's love of Dr. Pepper. Jane was super inventive and made a cake that used Dr. Pepper in the mix and the glaze, and she made Dr. Pepper smoothies. Top that off with the delicious nachos and snacks we had, and it was a delicious feast. Happy Birthday Chris!
Jay and I are so glad that Seth and Jane moved into our apartment building and that they let us practically live at their house for two days so we could watch Conference. The older I get, the more I love Conference. What a wonderful reminder of how much we've been given and all Christ has done for us. It was especially wonderful to watch Conference on Easter and be reminded of the wonderful blessing of the Christ's Atonement and Resurrection.
