Utah Vacation

On March 5, we headed out to Utah for a few weeks. Jay's little sister Deb was married on March 13, and she was going through the temple for the first time on March 6. Jack was supposed to have his 2 month checkup and vaccinations on March 4, but I got a call the day before rescheduling it because the pediatrician was sick. I think that worked out for the best because if Jack had a bad reaction to the vaccinations, we wouldn't have been able to do anything for him while driving 12 hours the next day.

We spent the first part of our trip with Jay's family. We enjoyed going to the temple with Deb and seeing her and Jeison sealed the next week. We are so happy for them and wish them the best of luck!

Jack got to meet all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins and really enjoyed being held and adored by everyone. Erin, Brian, and Ellie were so wonderful to watch Jack both times we went to the temple, and I loved spending time with Erin and Ellie while Jay went skiing with his brother and cousin. Erin was also nice enough to take some pictures of us while we were there.

My family got together on Sunday, March 14 and it was great to see everyone. The only sad part was not having Shannan and her family and Erin and her family there. Hopefully someday soon my whole family will be able to be together!

The second part of our trip we spent with my mom in Lehi. We saw my dad and his wife, and my step-sister Kari and her cute family. We were glad we finally had more time to spend with our family in Utah Valley since we usually are so rushed while we're in Utah during the holidays.

Jack did great while we were gone and is only waking up once during the night to eat, around 4:30 or 5 am, and then sleeping again until 7:30 or 8 am. There were a few nights we went to bed too late and tried to sleep in the next day, but Jack was having none of that. We shared a room with him, and he's such a noisy sleeper in the morning that even though he was sleeping, we did not have the same pleasure. We were all happy to have our own beds last night, and to be in warmer weather. It's not very fun getting up at 4 am when it's freezing cold in the bedroom!

Jack is growing fast. He's smiling and talking more and he makes the funniest faces. He's as wiggly as ever and was trying to sit up on Sunday when he was propped up on the couch. I think once he can move on his own, he won't ever stop! We decided that one of the reasons he grunts and groans while he's sleeping is he needs to wake up, but doesn't want to. We get the impression he is not a morning person from all the noises he makes and how hard it is for him to wake up.

Jack in the box!

We might be headed back to Utah next week for a few days. I know we're crazy to make the 12 hour drive again, but we found out last night on our way home that Erin and Brian are flying to Pennsylvania today to adopt twin boys that are 3 months old. We could not be more excited, thrilled, elated, and ecstatic for them!!! This is the best news and we are so excited for them! Now Jack will have 2 cousins that are almost his exact age, and 2 more than are 6 months apart!

Jack is SOOOO cute! I hope you guys do come back because I miss having a baby to hold. Would you mind sending me some pictures of him. (Like the ones you took with Jack and Max or Jack and Emily.) I've been a big slacker with the camera lately and want to post some pictures of my adorable little nephew.

It was really fun to see you guys! Adell hasn't stopped talking about "tiny cute little Jack!" Thanks for taking the time to fit us into your schedule, it meant a lot! Wade and I talked for a long time that night about what an amazing little family you are! We are also super excited for Erin and Brian and hope to meet their new additions soon!
