I've been tagged! My friend Heather has asked that I reveal ten things people may not know about me. I've been trying to think of things that most people wouldn't know, but I'm sure my family may not be surprised by what I list. I guess we'll see.
1. I am seriously addicted to Natural Ice Cherry flavored chap stick. I cannot go anywhere without it, and I even wrote a speech about it for my Public Speaking class in college. I love it just that much.
2. My first year of college I was a theater major with the goal to be an actress. I loved to sing and dance all through high school and even auditioned for a touring company of Les Miserables in Salt Lake my senior year of high school. Then after taking acting classes for a semester at Southern Utah University, I decided I didn't have the talent or the drive to be an actress. Now I'm married to an actor. I find that quite ironic.
3. I hate every type of exercise. I love the feeling afterward, but it's just not worth it to me to actually exercise. Although if I could dance every day as a workout, I think I could enjoy that.
4. When I was younger, I wanted to be a professional ice skater or gymnast when I got older. I was never flexible enough or had the opportunity so it was always a far off dream. I now watch as much ice skating and gymnastics as I can because I'm still so amazed at what those athletes can do.
5. I love the TV show M.A.S.H. I had a roommate in college that would watch it and I always thought it was so stupid and refused to watch it. Jay finally made me watch an episode, and now I can't get enough. We own all 11 seasons on DVD.
6. I always wonder if I could've been a professional dancer if I had learned to dance when I was younger. I love to dance and I miss it like crazy. I made it on the high school ballroom team my sophomore year without any dance experience, which totally surprised me. Then I joined the Big Band Swing Team in college, also with no swing dance experience, and I ended up meeting Jay because of it. I didn't continue dancing after getting married, but Jay and I do dance sometimes and actually won the $400 first prize for a dance contest at my work Christmas party last year. I'm sure I looked like a fool, but I sure did have a great time doing it!
7. I am horrible at every kind of sport. I cannot catch or throw a ball to save my life, and I have never been on a sports team (unless you count dancing, which I do, but others don't). And honestly, I don't really have a desire to play sports so I am ok with that.
8. I don't have very good handwriting, and it's even worse when I write on a chalkboard. There have been multiple times in Primary when the kids will ask me what a word is because I didn't write it out clearly enough. I can read it just fine, but others seem to have a problem with it.
9. I used to not like kids- at all. I never babysat when I was younger, so I didn't know how to deal with kids or what to do with them. Kids always kind of scared me, and I preferred being with adults. I don't know what happened, maybe it was having nieces and nephews, but now I love them, and I love being in Primary with them every Sunday. I'm excited to have children of my own someday.
10. I had a motorcycle for about 6 months my first year of college. I definitely thought I was hard core, but looking back I don't think I really had any idea what I was doing. If nothing else, it was a lot of fun and someday I'll get another one.
I tag Shannan, Erin, Adrienne, Mom, and Julie.
