On our way down to San Diego, we had time to do a session in the San Diego Temple. I have never been inside this temple, but I've always thought it one of the most beautiful. It reminds me of a castle, and it is just as beautiful inside as outside. If you ever have the time, you must do a session here. It's absolutely gorgeous.
We went to the San Diego Zoo on Wednesday. It was a chilly 60 degrees, but I think that kept the crowds away. We felt like we had the zoo to ourselves. My favorite thing we saw was a red kangaroo that had a joey in its pouch. I have never seen a baby kangaroo still in the pouch, and it was the sweetest thing. Is that weird to say about an animal?
Jay's favorite animal was definitely the hippos. There was a large male and female, and at the end of the day we had to go back and watch them again. We got to see them "playing" by trying to see who had a bigger mouth. This is actually how the males fight, except it gets a little violent. These two were just having some fun. We must have stayed and watched them for at least 30 minutes. Jay was in heaven.
We also walked around Sea Port Village by the ocean and around the Gaslamp District. I decided someday we are going to move down there because I really, really like San Diego.
