Lions, Tigers, Bears, Oh My!

We finally made it to the LA Zoo on Monday. We decided since I had a day off that we should travel the two miles and check out our local zoo. It was a perfect February day- not too hot and not too cold. And yes, for all of our family in Utah, we are bragging. The zoo was a lot bigger than it looked, and we had a good time watching the animals sleep the day away.

We tried not to get to the zoo too early, thinking the crowd would've died down after an hour or so. It's sad that after living here almost two years, we still don't realize that on weekends and holidays LA doesn't start buzzing until the late morning. There was a huge line to buy tickets, and I thought we for sure would be waiting for an hour in line. Luckily, there were a lot of big groups going to the zoo together, so we only had to wait for 20 minutes.
Some of our favorite animals were the lions, koala bears, giraffes, hippo, zebras, snow leopards, and tiger cubs. There were some animals we had never heard of before but I can't remember (or pronounce) any of the names.

They have snow leopards at the LA zoo? Now I will definitely have to bring the girls out to the zoo. Snow leopards are my favorite animal!
